Twenty-one athletes took part in the ‘On Camp with Kelly’ Spring Get-Together on the weekend of 24-25 March which featured a visit to the Sport Relief London Mile.
The first day was spent at St Mary’s University College in Twickenham where the athletes took part in a variety of intensive training sessions, on the track, grass, in the gym and the pool. Some athletes also benefitted from the opportunity to take part in the physiological testing led by St Mary’s physiologists Jess Hill and Colin Towey.
The athletes also took part in media workshops with duo Sybil Ruscoe and Tom Knight, media trainers to some of Britain’s best sporting stars. The athletes benefited from interview tips and tricks, learnt about how to manage their social media networks and how to present themselves well when in the spotlight. Athletes were also given the chance to discuss their 2012 season with OCWK sports psychologist Anna Waters.
Sunday morning began with the athletes either opting for a long steady run in Richmond Park or an aqua jogging session.

The athletes were treated to VIP access and ran the mile with celebrities including David Tennant, Richard Hammond and of course Dame Kelly herself in the glorious sunshine.
