Mitch Goose (Iona College) finished in 23rd place at the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships in Louisville on Saturday 17 November, completing the 10km course in 29:48.7. The race was won by Kenyan Kithuka Kennedy in 28:31.3. David Forrester finished 62nd in 30:26, helping his Florida State University team to fifth place in the team competition.

In the regional championships on 9 November Mitch won the Northeast Championships in Madison by 12 seconds, completing the 10km course in 30:04.5. David Forrester was 11th in the South Championships in Tallahassee in 30:48.9.

Jess Coulson (Stockport Harriers) had one of the best cross country performances of her career at the IAAF Permit meeting in Burgos, Spain, on 11 November, finishing third in the senior women’s 7.8km race in 25:45 behind Olympic steeplechase fifth placer Hiwot Ayalew of Ethiopia who clocked 25:02. Jen Walsh (Spenborough & District AC) was also in good form, winning the junior women’s 3.9km race by 15 seconds in 13:15.
