Jess Coulson second in Great South Run

Jess Coulson (Stockport Harriers) performed brilliantly at the Great South Run in Portsmouth on Sunday 28 October, finishing second behind runaway winner Jo Pavey in 53:43 to Pavey’s 53:00. In the race started by Dame Kelly Holmes, Emma Pallant (Aldershot Farnham & District) was eighth in 55:26.

Hannah Brooks (Crawley AC) and Gemma Kersey (Basildon AC) were in action in the McCain Bristol Cross Challenge on the same day, finishing second and fourth respectively. Hannah clocked 26:14 and Gemma 26:33 in the 6.34km race which was won by Caryl Jones in 25:58.

Meanwhile in the USA, Mitch Goose (City of Norwich) was a convincing winner of the MAAC Cross Country Championships in Orlando on 27 October.
