Rowena received an 'On Camp with Kelly' Outstanding Achievement Award in 2009 in recognition of her bronze medal in the 800m at the IAAF World Youth Championships and in 2011 for winning the medal in the 800m at the European Athletics Junior Championships.

Performances in 2012
Rowena won the bronze medal in the 800m at the BUCS Indoor Championships in February in an indoor personal best of 2:07.11. She improved her outdoor best to 2:03.19 in Manchester on 19 May and then again to 2:02.88 in Solihull on 21 July and the won the 'On Camp with Kelly' race at the Aviva London Grand Prix. She also improved her 1500m best by massive eight seconds to 4:18.80 at Watford on 28 August

Performances in 2011
Rowena won the England Under 20 800m title on 25 June to secure her selection for the European Athletics Junior Championships. She improved her personal best to 2:03.61 when winning the OCWK 800m at the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix on 10 July. She then improved that best again to 2:03.43 in winning the silver medal at the European Athletics Junior Championships.

Performances in 2009
Rowena improved her 800m personal best to 2:06.7 in winning the senior race at the Warkwickshire County Championships on 10 May and then improved again to 2:06.42 on her GB junior debut at the Loughborough International on 17 May. She broke her 400m best twice at the Midland Under 20 Championships on 21 June, winning the final in 55.72 seconds, and set another 800m best of 2:06.29 to win the bronze medal at the Aviva England Under 20 Championships on 28 June. Rowena ran brilliantly at the IAAF World Youth Championship setting a personal best in the semi final of 2:05.80 and then smashing that with 2:03.83 in the final to win the bronze medal.

Performances in 2008
Rowena won the 800m at the competition simulation event during the OCWK Educational Camp in Loughborough in April in 2:11.78. She set personal bests for 300m, 400m and 1500m before taking over three seconds off her 800m best at the BMC Nike Grand Prix meeting in Solihull on 28 June to go top of the UK Under 17 rankings. She won the Intermediate 800m title at the English Schools Championships for the second year in a row, was England Under 17 champion at 800m and took a bronze medal over the same distance at the UK School Games. She won the England Athletics Young Athlete of the Year Award in October.

Introduction to Athletics
Rowena started cross country at primary school to get fit and then started racing on the track at secondary school. She joined Coventry Godiva Harriers when she was 11.
