Performances in 2009
After setting an indoor best for 3000m at the Aviva European Trials and UK Indoor Championships on 14 February, Katie took the silver medal in the BUCS Indoor 3000m on 15 March. In December she was selected for the European Junior Cross Country Championships where she finished 29th.

Performances in 2008
This season Katie has improved her 1500m best to 4:27.44, equalled her 800m best with 2:14.90 and come close to her 3000m best with 9:30.85. She won the bronze medal in the 3000m at the England Athletics Under 20 Championships and the silver medal at the English Schools (Seniors). In October she finished seventh in the 3000m at the Commonwealth Youth Games in India.

Introduction to Athletics
Katie got into athletics after she ran in a school cross country race and beat all the boys. She first competed in some local races at the age of 10 and started to do some basic training aged 12. She started to take the sport more seriously when she became an Under 17.
