Performances in 2012
Gemma won the England Under 23 1500m title and the bronze medal in the 800m at the England Senior Championships. She has improved her 800m best from 2:08.33 to 2:06.11 this year, her 1500m best from 4:20.44 to 4:13.54 and her 3000m from 9:32.05 to 9:10.48.

Performances in 2011
Gemma has had an excellent 2011 season, improving her personal bests over 800m, 1500m and 3000m. At 1500m she first improved to 4:26.75 when finishing fourth at the Aviva England Under 20 Championships. She then ran 4:22.38 at the BMC Grand Prix meeting in Solihull on 9 July before improving to 4:20.44 to qualify for the final at the Aviva UK Championships. Earlier in the year she had won the England Under 20 Indoor title. Over 3000m she won the Under 20 race at the Aviva London Grand Prix on 5 August in 9:44.31 and then improved to 9:32.05 in a mixed race at Watford on 24 August. Over 800m she ran 2:08.33 at Watford on 10 August. She made her debut for the Aviva GB & NI Team at the European Cross Country Championships in December, finishing 16th in the junior women's race and taking team gold.
