Performances in 2012
Ed won the silver medal in the 800m at the Aviva UK Indoor Championships in February.

Performances in 2010
Ed won the bronze medal in the 800m at the Aviva Indoor World Trials and UK Championships on 13-14 February. He then set a new indoor best of 1:48.24 when finishing fifth at the Aviva Grand Prix on 20 February which earned him selection for the Aviva GB Team for the IAAF World Indoor Championships where he finished fourth in his heat. He improved his outdoor best to 1:48.10 at the BMC Grand Prix in Watford on 12 June. After finishing fourth in the 800m final at the Aviva UK Championships Ed improved his personal best again to 1:47.96 at the BMC meeting in Solihull on 10 July. He was second in the England Athletics Senior Championships in 1:49.69 on 18 July and then set another personal best of 1:47.91 when winning in Amsterdam on 7 August. He improved that best again to 1:47.02 in Gothenburg on 10 August and then clocked his second fastest time ever of 1:47.90 to win in Copenhagen on 12 August.

Performances in 2009
Ed ran an excellent race at the Aviva European Trials and UK Championships to win the 800m title in an indoor best of 1:48.82. He then ran his fastest time ever for 400m, indoors or out, of 48.75 at the BUCS Indoor Championships. On 3 June he improved his 800m best to 1:48.22 at the St Mary's Classic and he won the bronze medal at the Aviva England Under 23 Championships.

Performances in 2008
Ed started 2008 by winning the indoor 800m at the British University Championships and went on to take the silver medal outdoors. He finished fourth over 800m at the England Athletics Under 23 Championships and sixth at the Aviva National Championships. He has set new personal bests of 49.0 for 400m and 1:48.57 over 800m this season.
